Teaming up with Melbourne Beer Pong, a Beer Pong Tournament* will be run throughout the night!

Ferntee Gully Nissan Community Raffle - TICKETS NOW DUE IN!
Written by Darren King
Over the next week most players will be receiving raffle tickets for the FERNTREE GULLY NISSAN COMMUNITY RAFFLE. This is a great opportunity for us as all money from tickets sold will be donated back to the club. A big thank you must go out to Ferntree Gully Nissan who donates all prizes and tickets to help community based organisations raise money for equipment, coaching and many other things needed to run our great club. Please do your best to sell your book of tickets, there are only 10 in a book and at $2 a ticket this should not be a problem and as a bonus you could even win a NEW CAR.  If we sell all tickets then the club will receive $4,000. Please make the effort and return your sold and unsold tickets back to your team manager before the 19/7/14.

Bunnings BBQ Scoresby
Written by Greg Wright
On Sunday 6th July the club was lucky enough to be given another opportunity to run a BBQ at Bunnings. This time at Scoresby, with a similar result to last month in that we raised just over $1000. The timing of these BBQ's couldn't be better as we've just had to replace both fridges in the canteen.
Again we would like to thank Kilsyth Wholesale Meats and Bakers Delight Knox City for their continued support.
Thanks to the volunteers for giving up some time on a cold wet Sunday, we appreciate your help.
Ange & Floss Hayes, Beck Barton, Bek Bell, Bella Feltham, Christine Arrowsmith, Dani & Wendy Wright, Demi Hulme, Donna Burkitt, Adrian & Jacinta Dickinson, Sian Cawte, Lisa Westwood, Robyn Madsen, Billy Raupach, David Blindloss, James Upjohn, Josh Settle, Michael Steen, Peter Hill, Ricky Davies, Robert Stanley, Shaun Henwood, Tom Murphy and a special mention to Micky Saunders who did a double shift.
Well done everyone

Men's Senior Head Coach Resignation
Written by Luke Baker

Robert Bruce has resigned has Senior Men's coach. His last game of coaching the 1s was Round 6. The boys did him proud by clinching a victory on his send off. Robert feels he cannot commit to this role 100% at this time.

We would like to thank Robert for his hard work, dedication and efforts over the last year and half. He has contributed massively in bringing this young side together and to be a real competitive force this season. We wish Robert all the best for his endeavours in the future and we are sure he will continue to be apart of Knox Hockey Club.

Shaun Goodwin has now taken over the role of head coach and his replacement for Coach of Men’s Reserves will be announced shortly.

BCNA Pink Sports Day
Written by Ricky Davies & Angela Hayes

980_130512-pinksportsday - donatenowsmall

Knox Hockey Club will be seeing pink until the end of May in support of Breast Cancer Network Australia's sixth annual Pink Sports Day!

Pink Sports Day is a chance for sporting clubs right across Australia to show their support for, and pay tribute to, women and families from their local community who have been affected by breast cancer. More than 14,940 Australian women are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer this year alone. The funds raised through Pink Sports Day are critical to BCNA's work in ensuring women diagnosed with breast cancer are provided with the very best information, services and support possible.

Following last year's astounding success in raising over $3000, the Knox Hockey Club Committee urges all club members, families and friends to once again get behind the club's Pink Sports Weekend on Saturday May 31st and Sunday 1st of June! We will be decorating the entire club pink, holding a big raffle with some awesome prizes, selling off some treats via our pink bake sale in addition to raising as much funds and awareness for this very great cause as possible.

All our senior teams playing at home in round 6 are requested to buy pink socks that have all been donated by Kukri to play in to show their support for this great cause. The socks can be purchased at the canteen every night this week or on the weekend before your game with all proceeds going to BCNA.

We would also like to thank everyone who has donated prizes to us for our Pink Sports Day Raffle so far! Tickets can be purchased from the Canteen from Tuesday 20th May for $2 each or 3 for $5! Some of the prizes include an Adidas Jumper signed by Australian superstar and International Player of the Year, Jamie Dwyer along with a DeWalt Circular Saw and a Tupperware Hamper! We owe many more thanks to our friends at Adidas, Summit Sport, Bowens, Tupperware, Knox Tavern and Morack Golf Course!

If you would like to get involved in any way, shape or form, that would be greatly appreciated by all involved. It might be a prize donation, contributing to our Pink Bake Sale, helping out on the BBQ or our Pink Sports Day Raffle! If you are keen to get involved, please contact Social Co-ordinator Ricky Davies or Angela Hayes our Women's Co-ordinator (details below).

Don't forget you can also donate via our page on the BCNA website, and via the link at the top of our website.

Knox Hockey Club's Pink Sports Weekend is a great opportunity for the whole club community to head down to the club and support not just the teams competing on the day, but to support women and families in the community that have been affected by breast cancer, we hope that everyone will wear some pink, get involved and show their true colour - PINK!
