The committee is excited to announce that former Knox Hockey Club player and coach Luke Michael has signed on to be the new Men’s Head Coach in a three-year deal.
Luke spent the early 2000’s playing in our Men’s State League team while coaching a number of junior teams before stepping up to coach the Men’s 1s in 2006. In the decade since then he has had considerable success with gaining promotions for both Footscray Women to State League 1 in 2011 and Mentone Men to Premier League in 2016, as well as gold medals for the Victorian Women’s Under 21 Indoor and Outdoor State Teams in 2012 and 2015 respectively.
The official pre-season program will begin in the new year, but we will arrange for a meet & greet in the coming weeks. Details will be announced on the website when they have been finalised.
We would like to thank departing men’s coach Bill Fuller for his service to the club over the last 4 seasons, including two years coaching the Under 16 Mixed Pennant team to consecutive grand finals. Bill has been appointed the role of Vic League Men’s Coach at La Trobe University Hockey Club for 2019. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
